All Shifts: General Machine Operator
About The Position
The General Machine Operator performs various responsibilities within the production area, including but not limited to paste delivery, utility operations, seamer operation, depalletizing, diced tomato pumping, and ingredient weighing, as directed by a supervisor. During downtime, the operator is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the work area. This role requires knowledge of all job functions related to production and emphasizes teamwork with crew members and others in the plant. Adherence to all Red Gold policies, rules, regulations, GMPs, and safety procedures is mandatory. The position involves monitoring, record-keeping, and taking appropriate actions for Food Safety Plan, Food Quality Plan, and prerequisite program requirements, as well as reporting any food safety and quality issues to management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, General Educational Development Diploma (GED) or equivalent experience
- Must be able to understand and carry out basic instructions while performing manual labor related tasks.
- Must be able to successfully use basic, math, writing, and reading skills necessary to complete the required paperwork and projects.

- Must be willing to learn and operate multiple pieces of equipment throughout processing
- Able to work 45-60 hours/week with occasional overtime to cover for absenteeism and Fresh Pack requirements
- Must be trainable to do all jobs in the processing area
Responsibilities
- Perform responsibilities as paste delivery, utility, seamer operator, relief, depalletizer, diced tomato pumping, ingredient weighing, etc. as directed by supervisor
- During periods of downtime, clean and/or sweep floor
- Keep area neat and orderly
- Be knowledgeable of all job functions related to production
- Work as a team player with members of the crew and others in the plant
- Adhere to all Red Gold policies, rules and regulations, including GMP’s and safety
- Go over the operating equipment, work processes, quality standards, and safety procedures related to the position
- Responsible for monitoring, record keeping and taking appropriate actions for specific Food Safety Plan and Food Quality Plan and pre requisite program requirements
- Responsible to report food safety and quality issues to management
