About The Position

General Labourer – Permanent Full-time Position ADL Water St. - Summerside, PE Amalgamated Dairies Limited (ADL) is a producer-owned cooperative celebrated for its excellence in dairy processing and foodservice distribution across Prince Edward Island. Position Overview: The General Labourer supports daily production activities at ADL's cheese plant in Summerside. This role works across different areas of the plant — including the cheese room, packaging area, tray wash, and other departments — wherever support is needed to keep production running safely and on schedule. Location: ADL Water St., 79 Water St., Summerside, PE Work Environment and Schedule: Active food production environment where food safety, cleanliness, and quality are expected at all times Work areas may be warm, humid, or noisy, with exposure to water, cleaning chemicals, and moving equipment Schedules vary based on production needs — shifts may be days or nights, and may range from 10–12 hours Work may include weekends and holidays Department assignments may rotate based on where support is needed

Requirements

Able to perform the physical demands of the role, including frequent lifting (up to 70 lbs) and extended standing
Able to follow instructions and production procedures carefully and accurately
Able to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to support safe operations
Reliable attendance and ability to work scheduled shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in food production, manufacturing, or physical labour is an asset

Responsibilities

Perform production tasks in assigned areas of the plant
Handle, move, and prepare product and materials during production
Support packaging and preparation of finished products
Clean and maintain work areas, equipment, and tools according to sanitation standards
Follow food safety, quality, and workplace safety procedures at all times
Work with supervisors and team members to keep operations running smoothly
Adapt to different tasks or areas as needed throughout the shift
Complete basic production records or checklists as required
