About The Position

This position works continental 12-hour shift rotating between days and nights and 10-hour shifts rotating between days and afternoons The General Labourer is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations by ensuring the efficient flow of materials and finished products throughout the plant. This role includes operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and clamp trucks, piling paper bags from production lines, piling finished goods, re-work activities and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The position plays a role in meeting production targets, maintaining quality standards, and supporting continuous operations.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate forklift and clamp truck
  • Ability to follow work instructions, production schedules, and safety procedures
  • Basic math skills to count, track, and verify product quantities
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, labels, and production documentation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail for quality control
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and adapt to changing production demands
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred or equivalent experience
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards
  • Ability to learn and perform multiple job task

Nice To Haves

  • Previous manufacturing or general labour experience considered an asset
  • Experience operating forklift and/or clamp truck preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Perform rework activities as required to support production and quality standards
  • Inspect products for defects or inconsistencies
  • Remove and pile finished goods onto palettes according to patterns
  • Operate forklift and clamp truck to transport materials and finished goods safely
  • Operate equipment to secure finished pallets
  • Perform general housekeeping duties, including waste removal and maintaining clean work areas
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Participate in training sessions and process improvement initiative
  • Follow/support Food Safety and Quality Guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision
