As our General Labourer you will be responsible for day-to-day duties on site needed to complete work in a safe and timely fashion and maintain a clean work site. You will be part of a safety-first team where your contributions directly support efficient and sustainable metal recycling operations. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to work with a variety of equipment, develop new skills through cross-training, and grow your career in a collaborative environment that values teamwork, continuous learning, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • General labour and or farm experience an asset, but not required
  • Experience working with metals would be an asset, but we are willing to train
  • Basic comprehension and ability to follow SECURE’s Workplace Health and Safety requirements relevant to the assigned work site, including but not limited to SECURE’s safety and hazard assessment process
  • Ability to complete safety documentation in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, shoveling, moving containers and other heavy materials
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to persevere through difficult weather conditions
  • Ability to manage weather and/or seasonal interruptions in work schedule
  • Fit-for-Work each day

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all SECURE safety policies and procedures are followed
  • Be cognizant of and adhere to any site-specific safety requirements
  • Partake in all safety related meetings including: daily tail gates, last minute risk assessment, etc.
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Responsible for sorting ferrous material, identifying different types of metals
  • Willing to be trained on other positions
  • Coordinate traffic and direct material to the proper area
  • General site housekeeping
  • Notify supervisor and or repair shop of any required work to be done
  • Other related duties as required
