General Labourer (Landscape/Construction)

About The Position
D&G Landscaping is seeking reliable and experienced Skilled Labourers to support our softscape and hardscape crews on active commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with construction tools, site layout, and general site preparation, and takes pride in contributing to a safe, efficient job site.
Requirements
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or skilled labour preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality work
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance record
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow
Responsibilities
- Perform duties such as raking, shoveling, brooming and moving materials (e.g., aggregates)
- Assist with site layout using measuring tapes, string lines, laser levels, and grade rods
- Use levels, squares, and layout tools to ensure accurate alignment and elevations
- Safely operate hand and power tools, including quick cuts, hammers, chisels, mallets, grinders etc
- Assist with equipment operation as required (skid steer, mini-x, backhoe, tractor etc)
- Install sod and topsoil, ensuring proper grading and finishing
- Build and maintain garden beds, including soil preparation, planting flowers, shrubs, and perennials
- Install mulch, erosion control blankets, and landscape materials
