About The Position

Reporting to the Lead Hand and Supervisor of Poultry Department, the General Labour Packer performs a wide range of manual and machine-assisted tasks. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of protein food products and meeting all established targets. This physically demanding role involves various tasks to reach production targets while strictly maintaining food quality and safety standards in a cold, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 18 kg and stand for extended periods.
  • Proven ability to understand and follow safety and work instructions in English.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working on a food production line is an asset.
  • High school diploma or Grade 12 equivalent is preferred.
  • Possession of WHMIS, Food Safety, or Forklift certification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently process and package products according to daily production schedules.
  • Assist team in helping perform quick product changeovers, minimizing downtime. Immediately communicate of all quality and mechanical issues.
  • Execute various sorting and packing tasks as required.
  • Inspect all materials, products and packaging in your assigned areas for quality deviations. Promptly report any defects or foreign objects to ensure quality.
  • Ensure all tasks meet the specified requirements of the customer's product.
  • Always ensure a clean, organized work environment that is clear of any potential slip, trip or fall hazards.
  • Complete other tasks as directed by Lead Hands and Supervisors.
  • Consistently demonstrate Teamwork, Integrity, Performance-Driven, and Solution-Oriented behavior.
  • Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and professional work environment in line with our company commitments.
  • Collaborate well with colleagues, ensuring clear, professional, and timely communication.
  • Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP principles, and other regulatory requirements. Actively participant all assigned safety and compliance training.
  • Demonstrate reliability through consistent attendance and strict adherence to all organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned to support team and organizational objectives.
