About The Position

MGC Contractors, Inc. is a 100% Employee Owned Corporation specializing in all forms of water and wastewater general contracting. We are looking for General Laborers to join our Texas division in the Alamogordo, New Mexico area. This role requires working quickly, productively, and safely to meet production goals, following directions from leadership, and ensuring job site safety. The position involves maintaining a clean job site, using various tools and equipment, and performing general labor tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to communicate verbally with others on site, in person and over the telephone.
• Ability to read printed materials, signs and directions.
• Stamina to maintain attention despite interruptions.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to climb stairs and/or ladders.
• Ability to balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, traverse around or otherwise position one's self around the required work and safety requirements to navigating and perform activities on various construction sites in a safe manner.
• Passing a pre-employment drug screen is required.

Nice To Haves

• Six (6) months to one (1) year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Must work quickly, productively and safely to meet production goals as outlined by the Leadman, Foreman, Superintendent, and/or Project Manager.
• Follow direction from the Leadman, Foreman, Superintendent, and/or Project Manager with regards to daily production schedule and activities.
• Works in conjunction with Leadman, Foreman, and/or Superintendent to ensure the job-site is safe prior to commencing work.
• Maintain a clean job site; pick up all tools, equipment, and secure job site each day.
• Use equipment and/or an assortment of job tools.
• Perform general laborer work as needed.
• Any and all other duties assigned.
