About The Position

Challenge Enterprises of North Florida, Inc. is seeking dependable and safety-focused Ship Loading Laborers. This role involves assisting with loading, transporting, and stowing subsistence items and supplies onboard Navy vessels. Responsibilities include ensuring materials are properly organized, stock is rotated, and work areas remain clean and safe. The position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to safety and security procedures to ensure Navy vessels receive necessary supplies.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Must pass a background check and government security screening
Must successfully pass and maintain a Navy background security investigation
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Frequent walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting up to 50 pounds
Ability to perform physical labor in various weather conditions and aboard Navy vessels

Responsibilities

Transport subsistence items and supplies from the pier to designated locations onboard Navy ships
Utilize conveyor equipment when available to assist with loading operations
Assist with storeroom preparation and organization
Support stock rotation activities as required
Maintain surge capability to support emergent and increased operational requirements
Remove and properly dispose of debris generated during loading operations
Neatly stack and store pallets in designated locations
Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout assigned shifts
Ensure supplies are stored according to established procedures
Follow all safety procedures and requirements while performing assigned duties
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety vests, safety glasses, and steel-toed footwear
Comply with all Naval Station Mayport security requirements
Successfully obtain and maintain required Navy security clearance and access credentials
Report to assigned work locations on time and prepared for duty
Follow directions from the Project Manager and assigned supervisors
Adhere to all Challenge Enterprises of North Florida, Inc. policies and procedures outlined in the Personnel Handbook
Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs
