General Laborer, Rental Maintenance

About The Position

GFL Environmental is seeking a General Laborer for rental maintenance. Working in cooperation with the Plant Manager, the role ensures assigned tasks are completed promptly, prioritizes work to complete projects on time and minimize downtime, and carries out system maintenance and emergency repairs as required. The position also supports facility cleanliness, preventative maintenance, inspections, and tracking critical spare parts. The role requires following safety procedures, reporting hazards and incidents, wearing assigned personal protective equipment, working outdoors in all elements, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

Ability to work outdoors in all elements.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass a drug screen before starting.
Must hold a clear driving record.
Must comply with applicable safety regulations and policies.
Must wear assigned personal protective equipment and promptly report accidents, incidents, near misses, and hazards.

Responsibilities

Clean screens and shafts daily.
Clean accumulation around all screens daily.
Keep the facility and work areas clean and organized.
Clean outside areas around bins and the compactor while the system is running.
Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
Inventory and track critical spare parts.
Prioritize and adjust assignments to complete projects in a timely manner and minimize potential downtime.
Perform system maintenance according to priority sequence and conduct emergency repairs when required.
Wear all mandatory personal protective equipment as assigned.
Follow applicable safety procedures and regulations.
Immediately report accidents, incidents, near misses, and hazards to supervision.
