About The Position

Select Genetics is a turkey breeding and hatchery business seeking individuals with strong work ethics and a desire to work with animals to join their growing team. This is a full-time, agriculture-exempt position with flexible scheduling and opportunities for advancement. The role involves working with live product (baby turkeys) and eggs, requiring attention to detail, physical fitness, and the ability to follow protocols. The work environment may involve exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, and varying temperatures. Employees are paid hourly and receive a benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Follow hatching and processing protocols for day-old poults.
• Perform hatch pull.
• Count poults and provide accurate numbers.
• Handle live turkeys and/or eggs.
• Stack boxes.
• Wash and sanitize the workplace to meet inspection standards.
• Maintain consistent cleanliness and animal welfare standards.
• Carry out directives in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
• Handle company information with complete confidentiality.
• Train in multiple departments and rotate departments based on company needs.
