About The Position

Our General Laborer will be responsible for working in a manufacturing facility producing quality work with machines and by hand as efficiently as possible. The work environment for this position requires regularly working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse where exposure to cold, heat, damp or humid conditions may occur. Exposure to loud noise, dust, mechanical hazards, moving objects, and moving vehicles is also expected. The physical requirements include the ability to lift, twist and carry up to 50 - 75 pounds, manipulate (push and pull) up to 160 pounds of product with material handling equipment and skids weighing up to 2,000 pounds utilizing a pallet jack. Walking/Standing is required throughout the warehouse, and standing when operating order picker or reach truck equipment and when operating a cutter. Sitting is only required when driving sit-down material handling equipment. Lifting items weighing a few ounces up to 150 pounds with assistance is necessary. Stooping and kneeling are performed when filling orders or putting away products assigned to floor level locations, which may involve bending at the waist.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct hand finishing, assembly and packing of products.
  • Review and accurately carry out the instructions pertaining to the job ticket and work according to assigned schedule.
  • Perform quality checks as required.
  • Utilize automated equipment whenever possible.
  • Responsible for accurate counting, assembling and packaging of completed jobs.
  • Ensure all areas are clear and clean at the end of each job, with tools and supplies that were used returned to their storage locations.
  • Follow all safety policies and regulations, report any potential hazards, near misses or accidents immediately.
