Requirements

One year of experience is preferred, but the company will train the right person.
Willingness to learn multiple tasks.
Ability to follow precise instructions and strict safety rules and policies.
Maintain good attendance and a safety record.
Ability to work weekends and some nights.
The job requires standing, walking, stretching, bending, lifting, pulling, twisting, throwing, reaching, and squatting.
Requires regular lifting of 25 pounds or more, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
Walking and standing may require a full day of 12 to 15 hours.
Will be exposed to sometimes extreme hot and cold temperatures.
Job requires riding to and from work. If driving a company vehicle is required, then the guidelines of the company driver qualifications standards must be met.

Responsibilities

Perform general labor duties including acting as a designated spotter for trucks and equipment on an asphalt paving lay down crew or grading crew.
Perform various unskilled tasks associated with asphalt paving and/or grading operations, such as shoveling asphalt, stone, or dirt.
Use various tools including a shovel, rake, lute, broom, pick, hammer, saw, pneumatic hammer, drill, tamp, and concrete saw.
May operate a farm-type tractor with a power broom attachment.
Perform duties of a designated spotter (training will be provided).
