About The Position

Austin Wood Recycling (AWR) is seeking a General Laborer to join their team. This role involves performing general clean-up duties within the production and grinding operations, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and as directed. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, a strong collaborator, able to think creatively, and committed to safety, quality, and growth. This position reports to the Construction Services Supervisor or Manager.

Requirements

• Ability to work +/- 60 hours per week to include Saturdays with overtime (hours not guaranteed).
• Must have a valid Driver's License.
• Must pass a drug screen.
• Must be able to lift up to 70lbs frequently and involving repetitive motion.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and walk for short periods.
• Must be able to bend and stoop throughout the workday (lifting debris, using shovels, etc.).
• Must be able to climb and descend stairs and ladders.
• Must be able to work in outdoor environment with exposure to heat, cold, dust and noise.

Nice To Haves

• Skidsteer, tractor and mower experience preferred.
• Bilingual is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general clean-up duties within the yard production area and/or grinding field sites.
• Safely and efficiently operate equipment such as skid steers, tractors, lawn mowers, and weed-eaters (training provided if needed).
• Conduct basic equipment inspections, and report maintenance needs.
• Report all accidents and injuries, regardless of severity.
• Follow all standard operating procedures and processes related to general clean-up duties within the production and job-site area.
• Wear required safety gear at all times (safety toe shoes/boots, vest, hard hat, & gloves).
• Assume other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by management.
