About The Position

McGill Compost is dedicated to producing high-quality compost and soil products while promoting environmental sustainability. We are continuously building a pipeline of hardworking and dependable General Laborers for future opportunities across our operations. This posting is intended to establish a pool of qualified candidates for upcoming positions. While there may not be an immediate opening, applicants who meet the qualifications may be considered for future employment opportunities. The General Laborer performs a variety of physical tasks that support daily composting, production, and site operations. This position assists with material handling, site maintenance, equipment cleanup, quality control, and other operational duties necessary to maintain a safe and productive work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, bend, walk, and work for extended periods.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
  • Ability to work safely in an outdoor industrial environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in composting, landscaping, agriculture, construction, manufacturing, or warehouse operations.
  • Experience using hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general labor tasks throughout the facility and compost site.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
  • Remove debris and ensure site housekeeping standards are maintained.
  • Assist equipment operators and production personnel as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Support compost production and processing activities.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
