About The Position

This position is responsible for performing general labor tasks to support production and operational activities. The General Laborer loads, unloads, and handles materials, parts, and components safely, assists with cleaning, organizing work areas, and disposing of scrap, and helps manage inventory by labeling, stocking, and retrieving materials as needed. The role ensures compliance with all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and adherence to OSHA guidelines, communicates equipment issues, material shortages, or quality concerns to supervisors, and provides support to other team members or departments as required to maintain smooth operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills necessary for interpreting work orders, measuring parts, and recording data.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong attention-to-detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings, measurements, and work instructions.
  • Good organizational skills to maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with supervisors and team members.
  • Basic computer or touchscreen skills for operating machine controls or entering production data.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify and report equipment or quality issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina to lift, move, and handle materials throughout the shift.
  • 0-1 year of related experience in manufacturing, production, general labor (entry-level).
  • Familiarity with reading technical drawings, blueprints, or work orders.
  • Experience with measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, or tape measures.
  • Hands-on experience with material handling, loading, or staging parts.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow procedures and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Standing - 5-6 hours per day.
  • Walking – 1-2 hours per day.
  • Sitting - <1 hour per day.
  • Lifting – Up to 50 lbs.
  • Carrying – Up to 50 lbs.
  • Pushing/pulling – Up to 50 lbs.
  • Environment – Inside 90%; Outside 10%.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational training or coursework in manufacturing, machining, or industrial technology is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings or blueprints is preferred.
  • Experience with material handling, loading, or staging parts.
  • Experience performing general labor tasks such as cleaning, organizing, or assisting with equipment setup is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, and handle materials, parts, and components safely.
  • Assist with general labor tasks such as sweeping, cleaning, organizing work areas, and disposing of scrap.
  • Assist with inventory, including labeling, stocking, and retrieving materials as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including PPE use, machine guarding, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Communicate any equipment issues, material shortages, or quality concerns to supervisors promptly.
  • Support production operations by assisting other team members or departments when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
