About The Position

At Unified Defense, we are currently seeking a hardworking and reliable General Laborer to join our team. The General Laborer supports daily operations within the Finishing department by preparing materials, performing surface cleanup, assisting with material handling, and supporting quality and safety standards. This role contributes to production efficiency by ensuring parts, tools, and work areas are properly prepared and maintained in a manufacturing environment. Requirements

  • Prior experience in a labor-intensive or manufacturing role preferred.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when inspecting weld quality.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work on feet for extended periods (8-12 hours per shift).
  • Ability to work in confined spaces or elevated heights when necessary.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and visual acuity to inspect welds and materials.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare products by scraping, grinding, and cleaning surfaces to ensure they are smooth and ready for further processing.
  • Assist with safely moving, loading, unloading, and organizing materials within the department.
  • Support quality efforts by inspecting welds on tanks and reporting defects or concerns to supervision.
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of tools and equipment used in the department.
  • Follow all safety protocols, procedures, and PPE requirements at all times.
  • Report safety hazards, equipment issues, or quality concerns immediately.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
