About The Position
McGill Environmental Systems is hiring a 2nd shift General Laborer to support operations at our composting and organics recycling facility. This is a hands-on position where your efforts directly contribute to producing high-quality compost, mulch, and soil products that support agriculture, landscaping, and environmental sustainability. Every task you complete helps maintain a safe workplace and keeps production moving smoothly. At McGill, we don't just process organic materials. Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Valid Driver's License required
- Ability to work safely in a production environment
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to work around dust, dirt, mud, noise, and strong odors
- Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial, construction, landscaping, agriculture, recycling, or general labor environments preferred
Responsibilities
- Keep grounds, ramps, screening areas, and shop facilities clean and organized
- Perform weed eating, shoveling, painting, and other grounds maintenance tasks
- Clean and prepare processing bays and production areas
- Assist with equipment cleaning and routine maintenance activities
- Support maintenance technicians with repair and upkeep projects
- Organize tools, parts, and supplies
- Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and standard operating procedures
- Maintain accountability for company-issued tools and equipment
- Perform housekeeping duties throughout the facility
- Complete other tasks assigned by supervisors
