General Laborer (Receiver Non-Ferrous)
About The Position
Under the authority of the Site Supervisor, the incumbent receives the different types of metals, makes an initial classification and routes it to the appropriate locations. This role involves greeting customers, unloading vehicles, sorting and inspecting metals, weighing, informing customers of prices, performing data entry, operating machinery like forklifts, preparing receiving/shipping biases, assisting with torch cutting, and ensuring the cleanliness of the premises. The company, AIM Recycling, aims to recycle metals to their maximum capacity and has been doing so for over 80 years, processing over 3,000,000 tons of metal annually across North America.
Requirements
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a similar position.
- Resourcefulness and dynamic
- Health and safety awareness
- Very good management of priorities.
- Ability to work in a team
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of metal recycling (major asset).
- Fork lift experience (major asset).
Responsibilities
- Greet customers in a courteous manner following our procedures and requirements.
- Proceed to the unloading of the customers' vehicles.
- Sort the different metals according to their characteristics.
- Inspect customer's metals.
- Identify the right type of metal for each product and validate its quality.
- Weigh the metals on the scale.
- Inform the customer on the price of the metal received.
- Perform data entry in the RECY software.
- Work with different types of machinery, (Forklift).
- Prepare receiving/shipping biases (tickets).
- Assist with torch cutting as needed.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the premises.
- Perform all other related tasks.
