About The Position

This role involves general labor duties with a focus on cleaning and maintaining industrial sites. The position requires attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to perform non-routine cleaning and special projects. Responsibilities include site preparation, debris removal, assisting other craft workers, and general cleaning of various areas within an industrial setting. The job also emphasizes adherence to safety procedures and proper equipment usage.

Requirements

Must be detail-oriented, flexible and willing to take on non-routine cleaning and special projects as the need arises.
May clean and prepare sites, clean up rubble and debris and remove waste materials.
May assist other craft workers.
Will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, kitchen and dining room and public areas.
Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in an industrial setting.
Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

Responsibilities

Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
Material handling and storage.
Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Foreman or Safety personnel.
Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
Gather and empty trash.
Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
Clean and restore building interiors damaged by fire, smoke, or water, using commercial cleaning equipment.
Clean laboratory equipment, such as glassware and metal instruments, using solvents, brushes, rags, and power cleaning equipment.
Drive vehicles required to perform or travel to cleaning work, including vans, industrial trucks, or industrial vacuum cleaners.
Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
Other duties as assigned.
