General Laborer / CDL-A (3210)
About The Position
This position is responsible for driving and operating the company’s long and short-distance heavy trucks. The role involves operating trucks to facilitate shipping and receiving operations, including the delivery, pickup, and relocation of products and materials. The driver will also be responsible for performing required maintenance on the trucks and providing outstanding customer service. Maintaining all required certifications and adhering to company safety programs are crucial. The position requires understanding and managing technical documentation, and the ability to make overnight runs as needed. Additionally, the role involves learning to operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and working outdoors in various weather conditions, with a flexible schedule to meet job requirements. Adherence to 'The Mersino Way' is expected in all daily activities.
Requirements
- CDL A required
- 1 or more year(s) experience as truck driver
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Specific DOT requirements must be met (refer to https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-49/subtitle-B/chapter-III/subchapter-B/part-391)
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to travel long-distance and overnight
- Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward
Responsibilities
- Operate company owned and leased trucks over 4 tons to facilitate shipping and receiving operations
- Operate trucks for the delivery, pickup and relocation of products and materials
- Perform required before-, during-, and after-operation “user maintenance” and provide required reports
- Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations
- Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs
- Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition
- Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations
- Understand, complete and manage required technical documentation
- Drive heavy truck equipment on both short and long-distance routes as required
- Make overnight runs as required by shipping needs
- Learn to operate all MHE used by the company
- Work outside in various weather conditions
- Work flexible schedule to meet job requirements
