About The Position

This role supports Production by performing scheduled product changes and ensuring successful runs. The General Laborer will maintain daily operations of the AFP facility in compliance with company policies, union agreements, and California labor laws. This position is classified under Bracket VII of the union pay scale, with the hourly rate determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Requirements

• Proficient math and reading skills
• Familiarity with OSHA and Cal/OSHA safety standards
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
• Oral and written communication skills for safety programs and problem-solving
• Ability to read and understand English text and numbers on work orders and process sheets
• Moderate to heavy work; frequent lifting up to 55 lbs
• Ability to meet quality and quantity standards while performing repetitive tasks
• Stamina to remain in a stationary position or move throughout the work area for full shifts
• Coordination of hands, arms, eyes, legs, and feet
• Ability to reach, stretch, stoop, bend, and move materials
• Visual and auditory ability to safely operate around machinery
• Must comply with union membership provisions under the Collective Bargaining Agreement and applicable law

Responsibilities

• Palletize product and complete pallet tags accurately
• Push cans and maintain proper can usage logs
• Perform rework and complete recap sheets
• Maintain general housekeeping in plant areas
• Clean walls, mop work areas, and maintain overall plant cleanliness
• Advise foreman or supervisor of potential problems
• Keep work area neat and clean
• Other duties as assigned
• Working knowledge of AFP procedures and record keeping
• Knowledge of departmental and job-specific safety regulations; attend safety meetings
• Compliance with all applicable policies, attendance requirements, house and safety rules, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement
• May rotate to other positions and perform additional duties as assigned
