About The Position

The General Production Labor position provides hands-on support to production operations by performing a variety of manual and production-related tasks as assigned. This role supports product flow, quality, and efficiency while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies, food safety standards, and procedures in a fresh food manufacturing environment. The work is performed in a fresh plant environment where employees work directly with raw, in-process, or packaged fresh product and must adhere to strict food safety, sanitation, and contamination prevention standards. Employees are required to wear specific PPE and work in temperature-controlled environments, including cold, wet, or humid conditions.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior manufacturing, production, or general labor experience preferred
Experience in food manufacturing or fresh plant operations a plus
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Strong attention to detail and safety
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Basic communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong commitment to safety, food safety, and quality
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials as required
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance

Responsibilities

Perform assigned production tasks to support processing, packaging, and material handling operations
Assist with product handling, sorting, stacking, and staging as required
Maintain continuous product flow to prevent downtime or congestion
Monitor product for quality defects and report concerns promptly
Assist line operators with setup, changeovers, and general line support
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, and equipment
Remove waste, scrap, and recyclable materials according to plant procedures
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and supervisor instructions
Follow all food safety, sanitation, hygiene, and allergen control requirements
Comply with OSHA regulations and Tyson safety policies
Use required PPE and follow safe work practices
Perform other duties as assigned
Must be safe and observe all of Tyson's policies and procedures.
