About The Position

The General Labor position is a vital part of Jireh Metal’s production team. The goal of the General Labor Team Member is to minimize equipment downtime through safe, and efficient support to our work centers. This position also requires a safety conscious, self-motivated individual with a positive attitude, a willingness to improve, and a sense of urgency to help wherever there is a need.

Requirements

  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Self-motivated, safety and quality conscious.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Extensive standing, recurring bending.
  • Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Continuous mental and/or visual attention to operate machine(s).
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
  • Must read and write in English

Responsibilities

  • Assist Press Operators with various tasks such as coil changes, handling and packing products, stack totes on kids, band products to skids, print labels for packaging, etc.
  • Assist with the setup process and empty scrap hoppers.
  • Assist Press Operators with running equipment and presses as needed.
  • Assist Material Handlers with various tasks such as making boxes, shrink-wrapping, , etc.
  • Assist Quality team with various tasks such as re-work, etc.
  • Empty the trash and cardboard recycling containers.
  • Assist Steel Handler with various tasks such as loading coils at setup, verify steel truck paperwork, etc.
  • Use measure devices and fixtures to perform various tasks
  • Use and navigate the Jireh Systems (Plex, Job Web, Smart Pac, etc.) to perform various tasks.
  • Startup/shut down of machines and equipment.
  • Replenish and organize wash glove cabinets weekly.
  • Complete 5s tasks daily and weekly.
  • Identify and report troubleshooting issues such as stock alignment, setup issue, quality issues, etc. to Team Leader.
  • Accurately interpret work instructions and other instructions required by supervision.
  • Work with minimum supervision.
  • Follow all company guidelines and policies including the Team Member Handbook, Safety Handbook, Company memos and directions from the shift Team Leader and Manager.
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary.
  • Perform other company related duties and tasks as assigned.
  • Train team members on technical job duties.
