Biewer Wisconsin Sawmill is looking to add a Full Time Round Table/Sticks Operator to our team in Prentice, Wi. The main responsibilities will be to safely operate the round table equipment and assisting in various mill operations. General Labor Summary: Perform a variety of tasks to support daily sawmill production by safely operating round table equipment and assisting in various mill operations. This position ensures quality lumber output, maintains production flow, and promotes a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.

Requirements

  • Language skills to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively and professionally to customers or employees of an organization.
  • Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Mathematical skills with the ability to calculate figures and amounts using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Stand or walk for extended periods (8-12-hour shifts).
  • Climb and descend steps, stairways, or ladders several times per shift.
  • Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. regularly and use hand tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior manufacturing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gain fundamental knowledge of machines and equipment to advance to a machine operator role.
  • Sort, stack, band, and stage lumber according to grade and size specifications.
  • Remove scrap, debris, and wood residuals or byproducts from production areas.
  • Ensure clean work areas by sweeping floors, picking up broken pieces of lumber, and shoveling material.
  • Monitor material flow and prevent jams or downtime.
  • Use hand tools for strapping and tying lumber bundles or blocks.
  • Conduct routine equipment checks and report maintenance needs.
  • Ensure compliance with quality control standards.
  • Support other planer or mill departments as needed.
  • Responsibly follow all safety procedures and policies, and work together with co-workers to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
