About The Position

Formally known as Williams Sausage Company, the Hickman Rd Plant is located at 5132 Old Troy Hickman Road, Union City, TN. This full-time Food Production General Labor position is in PR01 Processing and works first shift. It is intended for team members currently working at this facility or complex; team members at another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner. At the time of application, applicants must have been in their current position for 90 days to promote, demote, or transfer to another shift or line. Packers perform the final packaging of sausage chubs and slicks. They visually inspect products for defects, remove defective products from the line, and palletize finished packaged product according to specifications. The role requires manual dexterity and the ability to perform the stated physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation. Starting pay is $16.95 per hour.

Requirements

Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be willing and able to pack finished cases onto pallets in the proper tie and high configuration.
Manual dexterity is required.

Responsibilities

Know product codes and descriptions, including case pack configurations.
Visually inspect packages for defects in size or quality and remove defective product from the line.
Keep the work area clean and tidy during production.
Work within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
Perform other duties as assigned.
Act as a key trainer for on-the-job training of new team members.
Maintain and promote team member interest in safety.
Assist supervisors and leads with safety awareness, including informing supervisors of unsafe practices observed.
Promote a culture of respect for all team members and notify the plant manager about conduct that violates this culture or company policies.
Lift up to 50 pounds and pack finished cases onto pallets in the proper tie and high configuration.
At the end of the shift, wipe down the machine and cover motors with protective plastic.
