About The Position

Processing customer parts for sealing or impregnation through the production line. This involves unloading raw or machined parts, placing them in baskets with appropriate quality measures, sending them through the production line, unloading, performing post-processing steps or testing, and repacking parts into shipping containers. The role also includes stamping or placing quality control stickers, using hand tools, potentially shrink wrapping pallets and using hand pallet jacks, and alerting supervisors about part issues. Computer use may be required, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment is essential. Flexible hours may be required, along with other duties as directed. The position may involve using a light hoist or crane and requires adherence to safety rules.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • May be required to obtain certifications/licenses.
  • Minimal to no experience in manufacturing environment required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate intermediate reading skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information.
  • Demonstrate basic mathematical skills.
  • Basic working knowledge of: Internet software, e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets and project tracking.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 70 pounds with assistance.
  • May be required to stand for long periods and walk great distances daily.
  • Routinely required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • May be required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear.

Responsibilities

  • Unload customer raw or machined parts and place in baskets using proper lifting or teamwork.
  • Utilize stabilizing or protective quality measures to prepare baskets, ensuring even loading for weight distribution.
  • Send prepared baskets to the production line for porosity sealing or vacuum impregnation.
  • Unload baskets after processing and perform post-processing steps or testing.
  • Repack parts into shipping containers, ensuring parts are secure.
  • Stamp or place quality control stickers on parts.
  • Use of torque or banding hand tools.
  • May require shrink wrapping pallets and use of hand pallet jacks.
  • May require alerting Quality Personnel or Team Lead about damaged, dirty or contaminated parts.
  • Use of computers as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • May require working flexible hours.
  • Carries out other duties as directed.
  • Ability to use a light hoist or crane occasionally.
  • Safely work in a variety of potentially hazardous situations while adhering to Quaker Houghton’s Life Saving Rules.
