About The Position

Under general supervision, the Paint Prepper performs a variety of support duties within the Paint Department to ensure equipment and components are properly prepared for the painting process. These positions will be long term assignments, and we are unsure of the duration of the assignment. There is a potential for hire but not guaranteed as we do not have approval to add more staff, however that could change later.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and departmental work instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a detailer or prep technician in a paint or auto body shop environment preferred.
• Certified forklift operator or ability to successfully complete Schwing forklift training.

Responsibilities

• Clean, mask, and sand units in preparation for painting.
• Unmask finished units, clean surfaces, and load spare parts after the drying process is completed.
• Apply sanding primer using a spray gun as required.
• Load and unload spare parts, tools, and boom hoses from trucks.
• Move slurry parts to final preparation areas and/or paint booths.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while following department procedures and safety guidelines.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
