About The Position

The objective of the General Labor position is to receive in products using RF scanner. This role assists the Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient operation of the warehouse. Responsibilities include utilizing an RF Scanner for receiving product, wrapping, staging, and labeling. The position requires a general understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment. The associate will load and unload RJW trucks/trailers safely and efficiently, and may be required to work 10 to 12-hour shifts when necessary. This role involves moving stock from 1 lb. to 50 lbs. multiple times, ensuring all shipments are correctly scanned and received into the system, and maintaining the warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping. Processing delivered cross-dock freight and overseeing the proper storing of stock in the warehouse and moving product into storage racks are also key duties. The associate will record and verify the accuracy of shipments against paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments/deliveries, and ensure all documentation is properly completed. Adherence to all OSHA regulations, RJW safety policies, and procedures is mandatory. The role requires handling all customer products properly and orderly, and checking deliveries for poor packing, general condition of materials, and damage, alerting the Warehouse Supervisor of any problems and taking pictures if necessary. Reporting all accidents/incidents, employee or stock damage, or building damage to the Shift Supervisor immediately is crucial. Spotting of trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment, and maintaining access to dock doors by keeping them free of debris or snow are also part of the job. Other tasks may be assigned by a manager/supervisor.

Requirements

  • 3-6 months of General Labor experience in a warehouse using a RF scanner required.
  • Good stable work record.
  • Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to determine "root cause" of problem and determine corrective action.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
  • Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
  • Regularly works in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
  • Frequently required to talk, hear, bend over, squat, reach, push, pull, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
  • Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
  • Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
  • Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
  • Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.

Responsibilities
