About The Position

Ken's Foods is seeking a Co-Packer for their 1st shift, working Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. In this role, you will be involved in the entire process of manufacturing Ken's Salad dressing and Sweet Baby Ray’s barbeque sauce, from following recipes and creating products to packaging and shipping. The Co-Packer is responsible for preparing finished products for packaging and shipping, retrieving items from inventory to complete display builds, and focusing on process improvement to meet customer needs in a timely and high-quality manner. This position starts at $18.00 per hour with weekly pay.

Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to work with chemicals and cleaning products.
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent; or 6 months experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to other employees and Team Leaders.
  • Ability to add and subtract, and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Regularly required to sit; use hands or fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding machine operations and using safety precautions (pinch points, sealer, heater, moving conveyor).
  • Performing manual labor such as stacking, lifting, bending, building trays/flaps, and banding.
  • Ensuring compliance with corporate standards for food safety, quality, and facility cleanliness.
  • Building multiple display pallets using finished goods according to established designs.
  • Loading packaging materials into machines.
  • Applying labels to finished good pallets.
  • Reprocessing raw material and packaging items for display builds.
  • Shrink wrapping and labeling all finished display pallets with identifying information.
  • Sweeping, dusting, and mopping work areas.
  • Organizing warehouse and work area for orderliness.
  • Ensuring work area is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
  • Following order fulfillment to ensure a successful and timely conclusion.
  • Operating manual pallet jack and electric pallet stacker.
  • Performing general housekeeping.
  • Shipping product free of contamination.
  • Following all Ken’s Foods Security and GMP policies.
  • Reporting any suspicious activities.
  • Inspecting work area for any possible product contamination issues on a continuous basis.
  • Reporting any leaking or spilled product immediately.
  • Inspecting all incoming and out-going product for signs of contamination.
