About The Position

Aspire Bakeries is seeking a General Labor, Bakery Sanitation team member to join their team at their Alsip, IL bakery. As part of the Sanitation team, the individual will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production equipment and maintaining hygienic work areas to support food safety, regulatory compliance, and consistent product quality. Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred
Ability to work various shifts, including weekends
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, reaching, and repetitive motions
Ability to work safely with chemicals and follow sanitation instructions
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures
Basic understanding of GMPs and food safety practices

Nice To Haves

Experience in the food industry, preferably in sanitation
Experience disassembling production equipment for cleaning
HACCP or food‑safety‑related training
Ability to work in fast‑paced, frequently changing environments
Strong teamwork and communication skills

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize production equipment and work areas in alignment with company and regulatory standards
Disassemble and reassemble equipment to ensure thorough cleaning and safe operation
Handle and apply cleaning chemicals safely while maintaining proper labeling and storage
Maintain accurate sanitation records according to SSOP requirements
Maintain clean, organized chemical rooms and sanitation areas
Follow GMPs, food safety rules, and sanitation procedures consistently
Build effective working relationships to support sanitation and production teams
