About The Position

The General Interest Instructor - Education instructs and leads a variety of educational classes, approved by the Sr Recreation Coordinator of Education, to community members. The position also manages people safely in indoor and outdoor environments. Requirements

Ability to thoroughly follow directions furnished in a variety of formats.
Ability to communicate effectively and patiently, especially with older adults.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and participants.
Strong presentation skills.
Good listening skills.
Organized.
Strong, positive customer service skills.
Strong understanding of technology, not limited to cell phones, GPS locators, and email.
High school degree or GED.
Public speaking experience.
CPR/First Aid/AED certification required.
Ability to solve practical problems.
Ability to handle emergency situations including - the ability to make quick, decisive, and safe actions; communicate calmly, and de-escalate tensions and stress.
Must be able to communicate effectively with participants, staff, and the general public.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in related field.

Responsibilities
