About The Position

This is an entry-level position where the General Helper will perform various tasks in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include working around conveyors, on elevated platforms, and transporting materials. The role requires attention to safety, quality, and accurate documentation, including inventory tracking and production data entry. General Helpers may be assigned to different operational roles and are responsible for maintaining a clean work area.

Requirements

Previous manufacturing experience required.
Ability to work any shift, some 12-hour shifts required.
Ability to work around conveyors, crosswalks, and elevated platforms.
Ability to transport product and materials.
Ability to perform tasks in a timely fashion, following all safety procedures.
Ability to ensure quality product arrives at the next operation.
Responsibility for completion of required paperwork for tracking inventory, downtime, etc.
Responsibility for computer data entry relating to production metrics.
Ability to count and stack finished product.
Ability to read factory orders.
Ability to accurately read gauges and other test equipment.
Ability to utilize basic shop math.
Ability to inspect products.
Ability to accurately complete quality and administrative documents and follow directions.
Ability to perform clean-up functions.

Responsibilities

Work any shift, including some 12-hour shifts.

Transport product and materials such as ink buckets, stitch wire boxes, coils of strapping, and cutting dies.
Perform tasks in a timely manner, following all safety procedures.
Ensure quality product arrives at the next operation.
Complete required paperwork for tracking inventory, downtime, etc.
Perform computer data entry relating to production metrics.
Fill a variety of roles including Die Cutter Pusher Bar, Double-Head Stitcher, Semi-Stitcher, Jumbo Folder Gluer Helper, Stock Handler, and Corrugator Stacker Operator.
Count and stack finished product.
Read factory orders.
Accurately read gauges and other test equipment.
Utilize basic shop math and inspect products.
Accurately complete quality and administrative documents and follow directions.
Perform clean-up functions such as blowing down machines, wiping shafts, cleaning ink systems, vacuuming and sweeping the machine area, and picking up and shredding scrap.
