About The Position

The primary function of the General Helper position is to safely perform a wide range of tasks that include conducting quality checks, material set up, assisting crew members, and maintaining a clean and organized space. This role involves reviewing the work schedule, checking equipment and supplies, preparing for operations, and completing work from the previous shift. The General Helper is responsible for cleaning the area throughout the shift, securing all equipment and machinery, and completing all required paperwork. They will assist or operate machinery to expected performance levels, aid with machinery operations during upset conditions, and help meet or exceed production, waste, and quality goals. This position requires assisting crew members, working in a team environment, and adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures. Special projects and assignments may be given as business dictates. The role also includes responsibility for the maintenance, creation, and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Good computer skills, ability to track inventory in a computer.
  • Able to communicate with all team members and adhere to safety regulations.
  • Must be team player, organized and detail oriented.
  • Able to multi task in an environment with frequent changing priorities.
  • Able to read a tape measure and use a wrench.
  • Able to meet company quality and performance standards for job as specified.
  • Able to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for extended periods (lifting, walking, climbing, pushing, twisting, stopping, and pulling).
  • Able to work in hot, humid, cold, wet and noisy industrial environment.
  • Able to work in confined spaces and with heights.
  • Able to wear safety glasses, earplugs, hard hat, steel toes boots and any other required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to operate a fork truck and/or clamp truck is preferred.

Responsibilities
