General Helper
About The Position
The primary function of the General Helper position is to safely perform a wide range of tasks that include conducting quality checks, material set up, assisting crew members, and maintaining a clean and organized space. This role involves reviewing the work schedule, checking equipment and supplies, preparing for operations, and completing work from the previous shift. The General Helper is responsible for cleaning the area throughout the shift, securing all equipment and machinery, and completing all required paperwork. They will assist or operate machinery to expected performance levels, including assisting with machinery operations during upset conditions. The role also requires meeting or exceeding production, waste, and quality goals, assisting crew members, and working in a team environment. Adherence to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures is mandatory. Special projects and assignments may be given as business dictates. The position also includes responsibility for the maintenance, creation, and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year manufacturing experience preferred
- Good computer skills, ability to track inventory in a computer
- Able to communicate with all team members and adhere to safety regulations
- Must be team player, organized and detail oriented
- Able to multi task in an environment with frequent changing priorities
- Able to read a tape measure and use a wrench
- Ability to operate a fork truck and/or clamp truck is preferred
- Able to meet company quality and performance standards for job as specified
- Must have attention to detail and focused concentration
- Must be able to complete tasks that require a particular speed or productivity quota
- Must be able to adhere to process protocol and must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner
- Able to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for extended periods (lifting, walking, climbing, pushing, twisting, stopping, and pulling)

- Ability to operate a fork truck and/or clamp truck is preferred
