About The Position

The primary function of the General Helper position is to safely perform a wide range of tasks that include conducting quality checks, material set up, assisting crew members, and maintaining a clean and organized space. This role is responsible for preparing for operations, checking and/or completing work from the previous shift, and cleaning the area throughout the shift. The General Helper will also secure all equipment and machinery, complete required paperwork, and help meet or exceed production, waste, and quality goals. This position requires assisting crew members, working in a team environment, and adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures. Special projects and assignments may be given as business dictates. The role also involves responsibility for the maintenance, creation, and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Good computer skills, ability to track inventory in a computer.
  • Able to communicate with all team members and adhere to safety regulations.
  • Must be a team player, organized and detail oriented.
  • Able to multi-task in an environment with frequent changing priorities.
  • Able to read a tape measure and use a wrench.
  • Able to meet company quality and performance standards for job as specified.
  • Able to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for extended periods (lifting, walking, climbing, pushing, twisting, stopping, and pulling).

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to operate a fork truck and/or clamp truck is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review work schedule, check equipment and supplies required to perform the work scheduled.
  • Prepare for operations, check and/or perform any necessary completion of work from the previous shift.
  • Clean area throughout the shift, secure all equipment and machinery, and complete all required paperwork.
  • Help assist or operate machinery to expected performance levels.
  • Assist with machinery operations during upset conditions.
  • Help meet or exceed production, waste and quality goals.
  • Assist crew members and work in a team environment.
  • Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Perform special projects and assignments as business dictates.
