1099 Contractor - General Handyman, Maintenance Technician
About The Position
Superior Contracting & Maintenance is seeking skilled trades professionals for flexible, 1099 contractor roles as Property Maintenance Technicians / Residential Service Technicians. With over 13 years of experience, we provide a broad range of residential and property maintenance services including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, roofing, drywall, carpentry, flooring, painting, appliance installation, remediation, make-readies, and general maintenance work. We value strong communication, reliable service, quality craftsmanship, and long-term relationships. Technicians typically work within their preferred local service areas and support property management companies and homeowners.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
- Reliable and punctual work ethic
- Must own a truck, van, or SUV capable of transporting tools and materials
- Must have your own tools and be comfortable working independently
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
- Comfortable using online portal systems for work orders and updates
- HVAC technicians must hold EPA certification
- General Liability Insurance required (COI must be provided)
- W9 with valid Tax ID required
- Completion of onboarding and portal training required prior to receiving work orders
Nice To Haves
- 3+ years of experience in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, maintenance, or related trades
- Ability to lift and handle tools, materials, and equipment as needed
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs, maintenance, and installations in areas such as plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, appliances, and general handyman services
- Diagnose issues and provide efficient repair solutions
- Follow local safety regulations and industry standards
- Maintain communication with the Superior team throughout each project
- Complete work efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction
