About The Position

This position involves operating powered industrial equipment to pick or put away boxes from cages into racks (VNA), and to load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials. The role requires maintaining equipment and materials in a neat and orderly fashion, performing daily equipment inspections, and operating all equipment safely and efficiently according to OSHA standards. Responsibilities include managing inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy and preventing damage, maintaining inventory control, assisting with physical inventories, and ensuring proper stock rotation. The role also requires coordinating with other departments, maintaining good housekeeping practices, and adhering to safety rules and Good Manufacturing Practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to successfully complete post-hire assessments.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain equipment certifications (e.g. OSHA, company, etc.).
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment appropriate for the work environment (e.g. protective footwear, protective eyewear, gloves, etc.) in accordance with safety policies

Responsibilities

  • Pick or Put-away boxes from cages into racks (VNA)
  • Load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials using powered industrial equipment.
  • Maintain equipment and materials in a neat, clean and orderly fashion.
  • On a daily basis, inspect assigned equipment.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods and OSHA standards.
  • Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
  • Efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate areas.
  • Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring the exact number and types of products are loaded and shipped.
  • Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars, trailers, or containers.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
  • Report quality variances.
  • Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained.
  • Assist in physical inventories.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation.
  • Follow customer requirements and/or other instructions to ensure accuracy: load count, stability of product, and that all products are loaded and unloaded safely.
  • Coordinate as necessary with all other departments/functions, especially Customer Service, Transportation and Maintenance.
  • Perform good housekeeping practices, clean as you go process.
  • Conduct operations and equipment in a manner that promotes safety and report unsafe conditions that can’t be self-corrected to the leadership team.
  • Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed.
  • Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.
