What We Are Looking For We are seeking a General Foreman to lead, organize, and manage daily vegetation management and tree trimming operations across multiple project sites. This role is responsible for overseeing multiple crews and ensuring safety, efficiency, and high-quality execution within utility right-of-way (ROW) and infrastructure environments. This position sits within field operations and directly supports the Operations Manager, while leading field crews and crew leaders. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in vegetation management, and effective communication across teams. Success in the first 12 months includes building cohesive, high-performing crews, maintaining safety and compliance standards, and consistently delivering projects on time and within budget. What You Will Do Lead, organize, and manage multiple field crews performing vegetation management and tree trimming operations. Plan and schedule work to ensure projects meet production, quality, and budget expectations. Supervise, coach, and evaluate crew leaders and team members to support performance and development. Conduct hazard assessments and implement safety mitigation procedures on all job sites. Ensure compliance with OSHA, CAL OSHA, ANSI Z133, and company safety standards. Train crews on proper vegetation management techniques and safe equipment operation. Operate and oversee use of saws, aerial lifts, chippers, trucks, and related equipment. Coordinate communication between field teams, management, customers, and vendors. Resolve personnel, operational, and customer issues in a professional manner. Prepare and maintain reports, documentation, and project records in digital and physical formats. Monitor crew productivity and enforce disciplined safety and performance standards. Support staffing, disciplinary actions, and employee engagement initiatives as needed. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 3–5 years of experience in utility vegetation management or ROW operations. Proven experience leading and managing multiple field crews. Valid driver’s license. Strong problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making skills. Ability to work outdoors in varying and demanding environmental conditions. Preferred Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B). ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Utility Arborist, or Certified Tree Safety Professional (CTSP). Qualified Applicator License (QAL) or Certificate (QAC). Experience using field technology tools such as ArcGIS or mobile applications. You will oversee multiple crews working in varying environments, often under tight schedules and changing conditions. Travel is required, and the role may include extended hours depending on project demands. You will work closely with teams in the field, leading from the front to ensure safety, productivity, and quality standards are consistently met. The role requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to leadership and problem-solving.
