About The Position

The General Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating day-to-day field operations for assigned industrial construction and maintenance work. Assigned work may include industrial insulation, scaffolding, industrial cleaning, mechanical work, and industrial painting and coating. This position provides direct leadership to field crews, supports safe and efficient project execution, and works closely with site leadership to meet production goals, quality requirements, and customer expectations. The General Foreman may oversee one or more trade areas based on experience and project needs; experience in every listed trade is not required.

Requirements

  • Experience in industrial insulation, scaffolding, industrial cleaning, mechanical work, and industrial painting and coating (experience in every listed trade is not required, but overseeing one or more is).
  • Leadership skills to lead field crews.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety programs.
  • Ability to plan labor, material, equipment, and tool needs.
  • Ability to monitor crew productivity and make adjustments.
  • Ability to ensure quality workmanship.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to set clear expectations and hold crews accountable.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities involving one or more of the following trades: industrial insulation, scaffolding, industrial cleaning, mechanical work, and industrial painting and coating.
  • Lead field crews to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements, company standards, and client expectations.
  • Plan daily and weekly labor, material, equipment, and tool needs to support project execution.
  • Monitor crew productivity and adjust work assignments, manpower, or work methods as necessary to improve performance.
  • Ensure crews maintain quality workmanship and complete work in accordance with company, client, and applicable industry standards.
  • Enforce jobsite safety requirements in compliance with OSHA regulations, client requirements, and the hth companies Safety Program.
  • Promote and actively support a positive safety culture and professional work environment.
  • Conduct or participate in daily safety meetings, pre-job planning, job hazard analyses, and other required jobsite safety activities.
  • Communicate regularly with Superintendents, Project Managers, safety personnel, and client representatives regarding project progress, manpower, scheduling, jobsite needs, and concerns.
  • Set clear expectations for employees and hold crews accountable for safety, attendance, productivity, quality, and professional conduct.
  • Performs various other duties and functions as required or assigned.
