About The Position

Walmart is hiring a General Facilities Maintenance Technician for its local retail stores and regional team. Under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager, this role performs routine maintenance to help ensure Walmart stores, equipment, and fixtures remain safe, functional, and presentable. The technician follows established maintenance schedules and guidelines and performs inspections, cleaning, diagnosis, and repairs.

The role uses multiple trade skills, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment. Technicians use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment, manage and document work orders, respond to emergency maintenance calls, and complete required safety training. The stated salary range is $45,760–$83,200. A $2,000 sign-on bonus is currently offered at select locations; additional bonus eligibility may also apply.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Able to move up and down ladders frequently and comfortable working at heights frequently.
• Able to sit or stand for long periods.
• Able to work in various temperatures.
• Maintain an excellent driving record.
• Vocational or technical certification and one year of experience, or two years of total work experience, in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related trade.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills, such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete maintenance jobs.
• Use the work order management system to receive reactive repair work orders supporting stores and store associates.
• Document repair activities.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
