About The Position

Torch Technologies is seeking a General Engineer to support the Air Vehicle team within the System Program Office (SPO). As a General Engineer, your duties will include reviewing and providing engineering recommendations on vendor’s change notices, short-term and long-term corrective actions, and design changes to ensure system performance and requirements are met or improved. You will also review and provide technical recommendations for contractor deliverables, perform independent assessments of vendor analyses, models, and tests for airworthiness, system integration, and design verification. This role involves assessing Technical Data Package (TDP) non-conformances, determining impacts to airworthiness, safety, and system functionality, and defining appropriate verification methods. You will provide engineering rationale for verification methods and data fulfillment during audits and reviews, support system qualification testing, and communicate effectively through various methods. Additionally, you will manage tasks, collaborate with multiple teams, and communicate concerns and recommendations to leadership. You will support the Air Vehicle Integrated Product Team (IPT) at various program office boards and meetings.

Requirements

U.S. Citizenship
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or equivalent engineering discipline or equivalent is required.
At least 3 years of relevant experience
Must have an active Secret DoW security clearance, must be eligible for a Top Secret DoW clearance

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, systems engineering or equivalent engineering discipline.
Design or manufacturing experience is desired.
System and subsystem qualification analysis and test experience is desired.
Program office experience is desired.

Responsibilities

Review and provide engineering recommendations on vendor’s change notices, short-term and long-term corrective actions, and design changes.
Ensures design changes met or improve system performance and requirements.
Review and provide technical recommendations for contractor deliverables (e.g. request for variances, test plans, test reports).
Perform independent assessment of vendor’s analyses, models, and test for airworthiness, system integration, and design verification events.
Assess Technical Data Package (TDP) non-conformances.
Determine and characterize impacts or risk to airworthiness, safety, test objectives, system functionality or performance.
Determine appropriate verification methods, with vendor, for system and subsystem performance specifications.
Provide engineering rationale for verification methods, data collection, and fulfillment of requirement(s) during Functional Configuration Audit (FCA) and System Verification Review (SVR).
Provide engineering support in the execution of cruise missile system qualification testing.
Communicate effectively through written, verbal, and presentation methods.
Manage tasks and effectively collaborate with multiple teams, organizations, and stakeholders for engineering dispositions and joint-test activities.
Communicate concerns, risks, and engineering recommendations to leadership for successful disposition of engineering products and on-time execution of program schedule.
Support Air Vehicle Integrated Product Team (IPT) at program office Risk Management Board, Configuration Control Board, Contract Deliverable Requirement List (CDRL) Review Board, Variance Review Board, and other meetings as needed.
