About The Position

Inspire the next generation of thinkers and changemakers as a General Education Teacher. This role involves teaching middle and high school students (7th-12th grade) in subjects like PreCalc & Calculus, AP Literature, and 8th Grade ELA. The position focuses on developing critical thinking skills, strong reading and writing abilities, and fostering meaningful discussions about history, civil rights, and social issues. The teacher will create a positive and structured classroom environment to promote student engagement, academic growth, and a love of learning, while collaborating with colleagues to support student success and contribute to the school community.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree Required
NYC Teaching Certificate – PREFERRED
Minimum of 12 Credits in subject area if not a certified Teacher (transcript required)
Teaching experience: 1-2 years in subject area
If they do not have a teaching license, direct experience teaching the subject area to MS/HS students is required.
Experience with Urban Teaching environments
Engaged and Eager to teach
Proactive – Not waiting to be told what to do daily
Eager to be a part of the team

Responsibilities

Provide engaging, standards-aligned instruction in General Education to 7th-12th grade students.
