The General Education Teacher is responsible for providing academic support, managing scholars testing needs, providing documentation of course completion, and developing activities and opportunities for life skills growth. This individual will work closely with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues to ensure the delivery of high-quality education and support a positive learning environment. This role also requires Special Education / Intervention Specialist skills set, including developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), assessing and monitoring student progress, adapting instructional materials, providing direct instruction in academic, life, and social skills, collaborating with general education teachers and support staff, utilizing assistive technology, maintaining accurate records, communicating with parents, and collaborating with other professionals. Attendance at IEP meetings, staff meetings, professional development sessions, and parent-teacher conferences is also required.
