General Diesel Service Technician
About The Position
The General Diesel Service Technician performs basic maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, battery replacement, and multi-point inspections, working under the guidance of senior technicians. The role involves using diagnostic tools, scanners, and software to accurately identify and resolve issues, interpreting technical manuals and manufacturer specifications, and conducting thorough inspections and road tests to verify repairs. The technician is responsible for ensuring all work meets manufacturer and safety standards, maintaining high levels of accuracy, and documenting diagnostics and repairs. They will also collaborate with service advisors to communicate repair needs and timelines and contribute to improving shop productivity.
Requirements
- Knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Own tools (basic set)
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software
- Ability to read service and repair manuals
- Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion
- Ability to read and interpret repair orders
- Must be 18 years or older
- Valid driver’s license
- Diesel Technician Experience 3+ years
- High school diploma or GED

- ASE G1 (Maintenance & Light Repair)
