About The Position
A licensed general dentist provides general dentistry services, including the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, injuries, and malformations of the teeth, gums, and related oral structures. The dentist examines patients using X-rays, dental instruments, and other diagnostic procedures; performs dental treatments; provides preventive services and oral hygiene education; and coordinates laboratory services for the dental office. The role also requires adherence to safety protocols, participation in office meetings and clinical reviews, and other duties allowed under applicable state laws and regulations.
Requirements
- DDS or DMD degree.
- Licensed in the state where practicing, or ability to obtain licensure upon graduation.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a general practice residency (GPR) or advanced education general dentistry residency (AEGD).
Responsibilities
- Perform general dentistry services, including diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries, and malformations of the teeth, gums, and related oral structures.
- Examine patients to determine the nature of their condition using X-rays, dental instruments, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Clean, fill, extract, and replace teeth using rotary and hand instruments, dental appliances, medications, and surgical implements.
- Provide preventive dental services and education in oral and dental hygiene.
- Coordinate laboratory services for the dental office.
- Follow safety protocols and processes, including use of protective equipment and compliance with OSHA and bloodborne pathogen requirements.
- Participate in morning huddles, chart reviews, and routine office meetings.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities allowed under applicable state laws and regulations.
- Provide quality patient care and educate patients on dental health.
- Communicate effectively and maintain a professional, courteous demeanor with patients.
