General Purpose: In order to ensure quality healthcare dental services, the Dentist provides general dental services to patients. The dentist position is under the general direction and supervision of the Director of Oral Health or Associate Director of Oral Health.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree in Dentistry.
  • Licensed to practice dentistry in the state of Colorado.
  • Graduation from an accredited dental school.
  • DEA License and BLS certification.
  • Previous experience of working with Electronic Dental Record program.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of dental residency is preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a community healthcare dental clinic is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides oral health treatment including mandated care (prevention, emergency care, risk assessment), expected care (elimination of disease through extraction, restoration, endodontics), and optional care (removable and fixed partial dentures) as part of the approved scope of service.
  • Evaluates dental radiographs and charts for accurate diagnostic findings and assessment.
  • Reviews patient health history and charts existing oral conditions, findings, and assessment/plan into EHR system.
  • Develops sequenced treatment plan for patients.
  • Arranges referrals and consultations to patients as needed.
  • Collaborate with medical and behavioral providers in order to coordinate appropriate care for medically compromised patients.
  • Directly supervises rotating dental students in the dental clinics for quality outcome.
  • Reviews prosthodontic dental lab cases with dental lab technician to coordinate appropriate treatment for patients.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance/ Quality Improvement program: peer chart reviews and quality improvement.
  • Collaborates with operational manager(s) and dental support staff to order and maintain dental supplies.
  • This position requires working with portable delivery setups to serve senior population.
