About The Position

Anderson Valley Health Center (AVHC) is seeking an excellent team player for a General Dentist position in Mendocino County. AVHC is a Federally Qualified Health Center serving a unique population including general patients and migrant and seasonal farm workers. The clinic provides affordable, high-quality care to all valley residents, offering medical, dental, behavioral health, an on-site medication dispensary, and support services. Requirements

  • Ability and experience in working with culturally and linguistically diverse and underserved populations.
  • Interest in team-based care and demonstrating initiative in clinical quality improvement practices.
  • High degree of interpersonal competence with both staff and patients.
  • Valid license issued by the Dental Board of California (or in process).
  • Completion of graduate degree in dental medicine.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA).
  • 3 years' proven experience in general dentistry.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • A patient and friendly demeanor.
  • Attention to detail.
  • BLS Certification (Required).
  • Dentist: 3 years (Required).

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (eCW experience a plus!).
  • California Dental License (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Perform general dentistry for vulnerable populations and some advanced dentistry tasks.
  • Treat patients of all ages.
  • Build trust with patients of all ages.
  • Maintain documentation and charts on each patient.
  • Develop and carry out previous treatment plans.
  • Work cooperatively with other dental staff such as RDA, DA and hygienist.
