About The Position
The General Custodian is responsible for maintaining a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient environment for students to learn, play, and develop. This role involves a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks throughout the school, including floor care, window washing, bathroom sanitation, trash removal, groundskeeping, and furniture moving. The position requires the ability to perform physical labor, including working at varying heights and some heavy lifting.
Requirements
- Experience in custodial work or willingness to learn
- Ability to do physical labor
Responsibilities
- Scrub, mop, wax, and polish floors as needed.
- Vacuum and clean carpet.
- Dust and polish furniture, wash windows, woodwork, venetian blinds, and bathrooms.
- Responsible for removal of trash from assigned areas.
- Clean up grounds and perform the routine tasks required in the care of the grounds.
- Move office and school furniture as needed.
- Perform work at varying heights on a ladder.
- Perform some heavy lifting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
