Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this position leads the Legal Department of the Clinton Foundation. In addition to managing a nimble legal team, serving on the Executive Committee, and acting as an integral participant in the Foundation’s strategic planning and management, the GC also: Provides strategic and legal counsel to the Foundation’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors as well as legal advice on day-to-day operations. The role requires expertise in exempt organization governance, risk management, employment law, commercial contracts, oversight of outside counsel, fundraising regulations, and legal matters related to privacy, trademarks, real estate, insurance, and other legal issues that face the Foundation on a regular basis. The Legal Department furthers the Foundation’s mission by actively partnering with Foundation colleagues to foster a collaborative environment that drives strategic risk management, sound decision making and creative problem solving. Legal Department team members work with Foundation colleagues to create and enforce Foundation-wide policies, provide legal guidance, develop and negotiate contracts, conduct research and provide judgment regarding potential partnerships, contributions and other engagements.
