About The Position

Sage is a care intelligence platform for senior living and skilled nursing, connecting care-related hardware with software used by caregivers to produce reliable operational data. As Sage’s first General Counsel, this person will lead the legal function and advise the CEO, leadership team, and board. The role is hands-on and will establish the legal infrastructure needed to support a rapidly scaling healthcare technology company. The immediate focus is owning commercial contracting and building templates, playbooks, and processes that help the sales organization move quickly. The General Counsel will also advise on healthcare regulation, privacy, corporate governance, and product matters, engaging outside counsel when specialized expertise is needed. The role will help Sage manage legal risk as it expands into skilled nursing, develops new revenue streams, and builds products involving resident data and AI. The position is based at Sage’s headquarters in New York City’s Union Square. Sage values in-person collaboration and offers flexibility for up to two remote days per week.

  • Serve as the primary legal advisor to the CEO, leadership team, and board, translating complex legal considerations into practical business recommendations.
  • Identify and manage healthcare regulatory, privacy, and compliance risks, including those related to emerging reimbursement models, and engage specialist outside counsel when appropriate.
